What you need to know
As the thrill of the 2024 Suncorp Super Netball grand final wears off, we now turn our attention to the 2025 competition. The signing window officially opened on 5 August and teams have until Friday 23 August to sign their full 2025 contracted team of ten.
Other important information:
- Athletes can be signed on one or two year deals only.
- Training partners and nominated athletes can be signed from 25 August.
- 11th players can also be named after 25 August.
Nominated athletes differ from training partners as the nominated athletes can be named as temporary replacement players for their nominated team. However, they can also be named as permanent replacement players for any Suncorp Super Netball team just as Uneeq Palavi was for Swifts in 2024. Teams can name up to four nominated athletes, along with a number of additional training partners.
11th players MUST be contracted as a 2025 nominated athlete. Other criteria for 11th players include:
- They must be eligible to represent Australia in accordance with World Netball Regulations.
- And/or they have not represented another nation in any international event in the last four years.
- They must also be aged 26 or younger OR have not taken to the court in more than five SSN and/or ANZ Premiership matches.
More info on how the contract window works can be found here.
The teams as we know them so far
Note: Athletes and coaches on multi-year contracts will have the last year of their contract in brackets after their name.
Others are either unknown contract lengths or expiring at the end of 2025.
