The Good Oil Tactix are set to put their 2020 ANZ Premiership squad to the test at the 2019 Super Club tournament which starts in Nelson this Sunday.
Super Club sees 20 games played over five days of action at the Trafalgar Centre, culminating in the Grand Final on Friday 13 December.
The Tactix join New Zealand’s five other ANZ Premiership teams along with international club sides Collingwood Magpies (Australia) and Wasps Netball (England).
It will be an action-packed week with all New Zealand-based members of the Silver Ferns squad taking to the court in Nelson, with the exception of defender Jane Watson who is recovering from an ankle injury.
Super Club sees the much anticipated return of Tactix defender Temalisi Fakahokotau after missing the 2019 season with a ruptured ACL, while it’s the first chance to see Silver Ferns shooter Te Paea Selby-Rickit in red and black colours after shifting north from the Steel.
The Good Oil Tactix coach Marianne Delaney-Hoshek said this year’s Super Club provided a great platform to build on going into the new season.
“This comes at a really great time for us as we can see how we are tracking before going deeper into our preparations for the 2020 ANZ Premiership season. To be able to go up against seven other teams packed with talent is a fantastic opportunity,” she said.
The Tactix open their Super Club campaign against 2019 ANZ Premiership runners-up the Northern Stars at 8.10pm this Sunday night.
Tickets are on sale now through ticketek.co.nz, while all games will be broadcast live on Sky Sport.
