Well, that’s the problem @Mcleod, they’ve referenced how the team’s last game in NSW means they now fall under the ‘at risk’ travel population. But then earlier, they referenced how three players went to Northern NSW last week during the bye. So it all seems a bit wishy-washy. Going by the idea that the team couldn’t travel because of their last game, they wouldn’t have even needed to reference the small trip those three players made…
The feeling I’m getting is that they would have received the exemption if it was just based on their match travel but because those three players left the QLD hub, those three players were then not allowed to play. From there the question is, did those players being in contact with the rest of the team prevent the exemption or did Vixens flat out refuse to travel without those players, as Fever’s social media team has suggested, and then hoping Fever would be willing to relocate to QLD.
In my opinion, if there was an option for the match to go ahead with full team rosters but with relocation to QLD, Fever should have to make that trip or otherwise forfeit because, in my mind, that is the best option. If this was an option made available but Fever refused then that’s their lack of compromising ability.
Either way, their social media statement was BEYOND unprofessional
