Re-watched the grand final and some fast arm moves that spilled possession from the Diamonds happened so quickly that they ended up back in their hands as the opposition could not grab them either. Throughout the match a loss of possession generally meant those who turned the ball over would see two goals scored including the next centre pass added to the score. Thus Jamaica could pull back six goals with three intercepts/deflections and that could happen very quickly.
Watching the match again the Diamond’s win required hard work and a bit of luck as to who got their hands on the ball as Jamaican players zoomed around the court often picking up penalties in the process. A little bit longer in the match and the result could easily have gone the other way as by continually chasing except for a brief lead the Sunshine Girls could not play an aerial game of keepings off that would have rendered turnovers very hard to obtain for the Diamonds.
