The fitness requirements strike again. Refusing to put Heffernan in the 12 is completely impractical and the Ferns aren’t really in a position to do this considering their lack of GAs. They’ve clearly been willing to bend the rules by classifying Walmsley as a GS for the fitness standards but playing her as a GA, so it’s all a bit hypocritical.
Having said that, it’s atrocious that only one available GA in NZL has passed the fitness standard. These are professional athletes. There are 10 SSN GAs who would easily clear those standards.
