Looks like normal transmission has resumed after that game…
Told me that the aussies hadn’t played well for the first three games and the ferns don’t have much depth outside of their starting seven. Aryang impressed me in that game. Not sure why she doesn’t start. Walmsley was ok, with Ekenasio there. But Ekenasio spreads the circle with her long range shooting.
There was a noticeable drop off when Nz bench players were put on. I’d like to have seen Salmon taken over and developed as GA. Don’t think Wilson or Walmsley are the answer at GA. In fact it was one of those ridiculous moves by Taurua playing a 192cm player out at GA.
It’s good that Ekenasio looks like she’s got a couple more years left in her. But could be interesting next year without Nweke there.
Wonder what excuse netball nz will come up with to allow Nweke to play the internationals next year… That game just showed me that if you are wanting to use 2025 to build combinations in the shooting circle then barring Nweke from playing is not the right way to go about it. The feeds into Nweke were especially errant last night and almost on the dangerous side firing in such wayward passes.
Looked to me like Poi has cemented her place as WA. She is less error prone than Souness.
I was disappointed in the bibs in the air/training game approach by Taurua to that game. I guess it showed where the ferns bench players are at.
It’s a shame we didn’t see more of Horjus.
