Trying to get my head around the schedule:
2025 – Continental Cup
2026 – Continental Cup
2027 – World Cup
2028 – Continental Cup
2029 – World Cup
etc
I can definitely see the value in a Continental Cup every non-World Cup year but I think a World Cup every two years is too many. How does the CWG, Constellation Cup or Tiani Jamison trophy fit into this?
In a perfect world, the ANZP would run at a separate schedule to the SSN, allowing Kiwi players to play in both without affecting Ferns’ eligibility. This would affect SSN pre-season for those teams choosing to take on Kiwi players, but SSN teams may consider the trade-off worth it for some players!
