@WeWood, of the four players (shooters) you mentioned, only Salmon was there, and in fact she was the starting GS. Saviour Tui wasn’t there and I know what she looks like (unlike the defenders). G Heffernan would actually have been an ideal person to trial at GA as we all know. Wilson was ONLY used at GA, she did fine and has slightly improved her GA courtcraft (I’ve always liked Wilson so I hope she keeps getting opportunities).
I think Salmon was fine – I have seen her in ANZP, just a glimpse, so I had no pre-formed opinion. In the first few minutes I felt like she wasn’t moving or pulling the ball in with authority, looked a bit nervous, however this did improve, so she was sometimes an option. I also think the feeders in the first half were making so many errors with the touch/finesse on the feed that it didn’t give Salmon the consistent service that would’ve helped her get her flow. Klau had a great game so it’s hard to shine against someone that amazing. In particular, Salmon’s accuracy was reliable, she strung together a lot of shots with no misses.
