Fiji are not as generally physically tall or strong as Samoa. Samoa are well drilled at getting their space using their body without causing any penalties. Fiji will need to quickly adjust to this kind of pressure – their footwork is too loose (they step on) and their passes are too loopy and not given quickly.
Strong start from Samoa, leading 5-2.
Oh dear the Fijian WD has an injury, I can only speculate on this of course, but it definitely could be a severe injury of the right knee, as she landed uncontested when receiving a pass. Incidentally, Samoa are using the injury to regroup and talk as a team, but the Fijians didn’t really know what to do, they stood around in the middle of the court looking worried.
