Tonga had a great result at the World Cup due to a good team effort. They used Mo’onia Gerard with a hands off approach as much as possible and it actually was Veve and U Palavi that shone when their country needed them. I fell in love with Veve and their passionate supporters, and thereby, Tonga.
They’re not living up to expectations in this tournament and Veve is ??out ?? injured (I don’t know). But I guess netball is about goals, so if Hansen (GA) and Palavi (GS) can turn on some magic, it might get them out of the doldrums. All of these nations are lacking consistency, and most are lacking spark and experience and leadership, of the kind that Samoa has with Manu’a.
