They asked fans a few months ago and 99% said Hell no. But, they changed the rules anyway.
Absolutely terrible
I don't often struggle for words. But today I do. That netball's governing body @NetballAust would choose 2020 – of all years – to introduce a rule it KNOWS is roundly despised by fans – is unfathomable to me. You know fans? The ones who pay. Them. I am sitting here with tears.

This is so stupid and infuriating. Why is there someone still pushing for this, and why did other people agree to this. ABSOLUTELY NOBODY WANTS THIS and if they actually read the data from their own surveys they would know this!
Giants will do well with Harten shooting the long bombs.
Tbirds must be gutted that Folau isn’t playing!Wait for it, Ekenasio to be asked to play for a team post ANZ
The changes announced today, are more of a reason for Netball NZ to say no to NZ players playing in Oz.
I have a feeling that the majority of teams won’t change tactics. The only teams who I can realistically see taking the shots on a regular basis (i.e. not when they’re down by 8 with 5 minutes left) would be Swifts, Vixens and Harten for the Giants. Wood might put a few up as well.
I actually reckon this change will see Tippett take more long shots. We know she is well and truly capable of it, just watch the bushfire relief match, but she just hasn’t had any incentive too till now. But I still hate it, with a fiery passion!!

6 weeks out from start of season – zero consultation with any of the players or clubs – knowing that it goes against what the overwhelming majority wanted….@SuperNetball 🤔 https://t.co/4rKlGgTAP6

I have just emailed Swifts to see if they will refund my membership. i LOVE netball with a passion, but this is not netball and i do not want to watch it, either live or on TV 🙁
Good to see players speaking out, would love the players association to demand a meeting with NA and the board about this. Hopefully, more players continue to speak out about it because one day of complaints is not going to change anything, the decision makers know their will be initial backlash but are okay with it as they think it will die down.
The NRL have simply tweaked a couple of things. And it’s improved the game. They haven’t made a HUGE fundamental change to their game which is what this would be…
Not a fan. But if they were going to insist on it, wish they’d done something like trial it for one or two rounds, see what impact it had on the game and what the fan response was, then make an informed decision about future use.
The way it has been brought in a month out without any consultation with the players is nothing short of insulting.

Players criticise new @SuperNetball two-goal Super Shot rule. At the very least, it seems questionable to bring in a massive new rule five weeks out from the season https://t.co/huZNkldIxI
