In 2003, the World Championships headed back to Jamaica for the 2nd time and it was New Zealand who came away with their 4th world title and their first in 16 years, as they beat Australia by 2 in the final. It was a great NZ team. Irene van Dyk and Temepara Clark were both terrific, but it was an all round team effort. There were several retirements in the Aussie team, including the coach Jill McIntosh. Just like 4 years earlier, the Australian captain spent the last quarter of the final on the bench.
