1/4 time: Aust 16-13

Diamonds well on top for much of the quarter, but again, they did let the kiwis back in with some loose passes. Kiwis having more difficulty finding their shooters, but once there, they’re generally scoring. Aus 16/17, NZ 13/15.

Messy start for SFs. But sort of tidied it up towards the end. We really need another option to partner Watson in GD. Burger is great, but the communication between the two isn’t there. Which I think was part of Karaka playing well there. Or maybe they need just more time to gel.

Bruce is being her awesome self. Really getting in between passes and disrupting play.

Good game so far though only down by 3.

The 2 aussie shooters are about as much fun to watch as watching paint dry! Come on aussie get some shooters who don’t have to be parked under the post to shoot and then I will say you have a good all round team!!

OK time for the hair comment. How much better does Tippet’s hair look then the bleached blond she has been sporting. Also is it me or does Burger’s dress look like shorts as it is so tight and short.

NZ have worked Bruce out and what was a 6 goal lead is tinkering at 2 goals.
Wouldn’t be surprised to see a change at WA or GK but with Hadley out I wonder who goes into C if Watson goes to WA, JLP or Brazill?

Also, Bassett’s hands a bit soft today. Looks like Phillip is about to enter, can see why, Tippett made a few questionable passes but her intensity will be missed by the team.

Tippett was doing a great job. Scherian had a great start but had dropped away and was responsible for the turnovers.
LA this change makes no sense.
Australia’s back 3 all lifted to protect the Diamonds lead.

I think NZ had their chances to level the score and Diamonds their chances to pull out the lead but both made some silly turnover errors.

I thought Tippett was doing really well and not sure subbing Philip on was the right move. Tippett was using that back space well when Bassett came out.

It has been a good game to watch, very intense. Burger is amazing for someone of her height.

Back and forward, to and fro, Australia gets on top, then NZ comes back. Once again, Australia being more heavily penalised. The turnovers are even. Not quite sure why Philip is on in place of Tippett. And it hasn’t really worked.
