I’d agree with that assessment. I still feel the ferns are hanging in there at times, then suddenly are able to kick into 5th gear, need that for whole 60. As for the Diamonds, there are still formidable force they always are, but aren’t able to capitalise on their leads. In both the 1st and 3rd tests, they held substantial leads, and BOTH ended up with 1 point losses. I’d like to see the ferns finally take the con cup, but i won’t be shock if again the diamonds manage the win.
Honestly, for the SF to even have TWO wins against them in a series is an achievement in it self, they can walk away knowing at least the wins are split. To think the last two con cups, NZ only managed 1 win in the 8 matches.
Well done to Caitlin Bassett. I think some people under estimate how vital she has been to the Diamonds success over the years.
And wow! A very early start to the game in PERTH. 10am on a Sunday. Will have to check to see if the trains are running at that time in sleepy PERTH.
Thwaites is retiring!
Here’s the article announcing Caitlin’s retirement:
Wish I’d known last week about Thwaites retiring,I would have given her an even bigger cheer. I love everything she has brought to the game and I hope she comes back in the future in a different role to keep sharing her amazing know, edge and insight

So it appears Ekenasio has been in NZ all week, was supposed to rejoin the Ferns yesterday. So wonder what is going on, hope she is there, but is cutting in fine.
