Half time, Ferns ahead26 to 25
Quarter time, Ferns lead 13 to 11Folau 9/11
Ekenasio 17/18Bassett 18/19
Tippett 7/81/2 time: NZ 26-25
A good late fightback from Australia led by their defence. For most of that 2nd qtr, NZ seemed well in control. For Aust, it was the same old problem, penalties & turnovers. But a few late gains from the Diamonds saw them come back to life.
Sherian made a point of difference on attack. She’s cutting straight through the zone like a good Aussie WA does.
NZ just a little bit more composed on each pass. Braz is starting to come alive now. She really put the pressure on Langman in that quarter.
Watson is proving to be one of the world’s best GKs right now. That incredible effort she made with three intercept attempts was phenomenal!
Good close game between the two teams.
I hope we in Australia can get to see the documentary on the Ferns’ NWC victory
Watson on at C, seems like the only change. I think it may actually work well with Scherian at WA, it will be interesting to see how this goes.
Liz Watson back on court at centre, with Hadley to the bench
Little bit harder next time Phoenix!!!
Bit behind…..just watching the fall time break now…35 penalties to Australia v 16 for NZ….not good.
Great quarter (19 to 13) by the Diamonds. They now lead 44 to 39
Quarter time, Ferns lead 13 to 11Folau 18/20
Ekenasio 21/22Bassett 26/28
Tippett 18/20SFs just gifting Australia the goals now. Quarter time couldn’t come soon enough. It was a good rally of goals for the most part in that quarter.
3/4 time: Aust 44-39
A strong qtr from Australia. The momentum they had at the end of the 1st half carried on. The attack is working much better. 19 goals in that Q, and the defence forced the Ferns into some errors. Scherian has been very good so far.
Burger!
Burger replaces Karaka at GD to start the final Q
Thwaites replaces Bassett with 8 mins to play
Missed the 3rd quarter but how did Diamonds lose their lead?
