SUN JUN 28 – STARS v STEEL (Auckland)
5pm NZ time (3pm AEST, 2:30pm SA, 1pm WA, 6am UK)
Live scoring: https://mc.championdata.com/anz_premiership/index.html?competitionid=11035&matchid=110350303

Poor old Steel have to front up again today to play a rested Stars side. Seems very unfair. Same with tomorrow’s game. The two teams playing the extra game should at least play each other, instead of playing against fresh teams.
The draw is so bad, have a look at the later games in the comp.
The poor ol Tactix play the Mystics at 5pm in Auckland on the Sunday, then back it up against the Pulse
in Wellington 26hrs later. What the actual!!!Tactix have one of the best teams, but are totally screwed by the draw, their only home game is a Thursday night, then 2 days later they play the Magic in Hamilton.
The Magic only have to jump on a plane once in the whole comp, (not counting rd 1)
Poor planning. Yes I know it’s almost impossible to get the stadium in Christchurch, but come on Netball NZ, at least they could have got one more home game, during the week.
Mystic and Stars get all their games in Auckland except 2.

GK Fifita1/4 time: Steel 15-10
Wilson 7/9 (78%)
Hume 3/5 (60%)O’Connell 9/9 (100%)
McCollin 6/6 (100%)Bit of a shock so far. Steel coming off a loss just 24 hours ago up against a team which is fresh.
McCollin is such a strong playmaker and takes a lot of the shooting load as well. Wonder if she’ll find herself in Fever colours after the ANZ Premiership season is over.
Why did Steel take McCollin off. She was doing great.
Steel showing some promise and form. Shooting stats is much better and general play.
@SteelNetball exploded out of the blocks from the 1st whistle. Outstanding shooting & cramptons feeds on point 🎯
A good response from @NthrnStars in Q2; getting more depth in their attacking end allowing them to be more of a threat to goal. https://t.co/8ved9c99N7— Anna Mayes (@ENCoach_Mayes) June 28, 2020
Steel still lead 26-23 but nothing like benching a GD to make her come back on firing. Purvis and Burley doing a positional switch which blurred the space for O’Connell feed. Down the other end a clear plan to make Hume shoot….sets up a big 2nd Half 👍🏼 @SkyNetball

G Heffernan’s off as she’s done something to her right knee. Looked painful.
3/4 time: 36-36
Wilson 27/30 (90%)
Hume 9/14 (64%)O’Connell 23/26 (88%)
McCollin 10/10 (100%)
G Heffernan 3/3 (100%)All tied up with a quarter to go!
Steel’s Georgia Heffernan went down with a serious knee injury and it looks awful. She’s in tears on the sideline.
Wow! Steel up by 5 with 3 1/2 mins left. This will be a BIG win for them if they can hold on.
GREAT win against the odds for Steel!!!
