GK FitzpatrickNweke on the bench???
Earle can’t feed the circle without Nweke there. Hasn’t hit a target in any of her feeds
Well, leaving Nweke on the bench was a shock tactic against Tactix! And not that successful with Mystics only scoring 6 goals in the first Q. She’s on now but Tactix still lead 17-12.
I understand Helene Wilson wanting to develop her other shooters, what I don’t get is why you would choose this game to bench Nweke when it if effectively 2vs3 and presents a great opportunity for the Mystics to go a game clear of 3rd spot to help them secure a Grand Final spot. Anyway, the change didn’t last long but I still find it bizarre.
1/2 time: Tactix 20-19
Bird9/11 (82%)
Selby-Rickit 11/13 (85%)Nweke 12/13 (92%)
Grapes 1/3 (33%)20-19 tactix and that was more like it.
Nweke on mystics back scoring. However still issues with that 3rd line either on a 3over or transition and the long hit and hope when Nweke is still setting up. Tactix more patient and using Selby Rickett on the long range. @SkyNetball— Tamsin Greenway (@tamsingreenway) July 12, 2020
The problem with making a decision like that at the start of the game is even if you change for the second quarter, you’ve probably given the opposition some added confidence that they may not have got if you had your star shooter on from the beginning. Tactix maintains the lead.
TPSR is so good to watch when she’s hot….(I said that last week after a great quarter and the next was a fizzer).
Tui – Nweke a much better combo.
Lots of great defensive play but lots of scrappy play by both teams too.
3/4 time: Tactix 32-30
Bird 15/19 (79%)
Selby-Rickit 17/20 (85%)Nweke 21/24 (88%)
Tui 8/9 (89%)Anybody’s game. Who’s going to finish the strongest? Still think Mystics maybe???
Oh no, what a finish! What just happened??? Tactix by 1. ???
