It is crazy to see the young shooters coming through in the next few years that will be contending for Diamonds but unfortunately all quite new and inexperienced at the moment. Horjus, Glasgow, Dwan, Garbin, Austin, Allen, Koenan. And in general, in the domestic league, I would love to see Hodges get some more court time somewhere as well and Sinclair has also been solid for the Magpies. Great depth but they need to be getting court time to develop further. And then you add Bueta, Bassett, Philip, and Wood to that. I can’t wait to see the Diamonds team in 2022.
No defensive pressure from the Swifts as Firebirds glide down the court from the swifts goal circle
Garbin does really nice work at GA but her shooting is just not there. I’m not sure if it’s fatigue or if she’s just lost her radar a bit this year but it’s really the only thing holding her back.
3/4 time: Firebirds 58-48
Wallace 34/35 (97%) 1/2 (50%)
Housby 6/6 (100%) 2/6 (33%)Aiken 34/41 (83%)
Dwan 14/16 (88%) 5/6 (83%)Firebirds have been very impressive so far. A couple of times Swifts have cut the margin right back but both times Firebirds have steadied.
Really want to see Swifts fight back here, that is what they need to do if they want to be serious contenders for the title
Firebirds have been great. Swifts though very messy.
When do Swifts play Fever? They haven’t had an answer to Aiken and just haven’t got hands to ball. So will be interesting to see what they learn and how they adapt against Fowler.
If Firebirds finish this off I wonder if they could start a run and push for 4th spot. They have Thunderbirds, Lightning, Vixens and Collingwood to come.
WD/GD/GK is just not working for Swifts right now. There’s no pressure at all.
Yep, Firebirds should be able to contend for top 4 if they can finish off games and hold on like they have today.
Housby and Wallace miss 5 super shots in a row, they’re falling for dwan but none of the Swifts shooters.
How is Jenner not being called for intimidation with constant jumping and hands in the face while Klau does it once and gets called on the other side of the court It is getting ridiculous.
Wow Dwan on 140.5 NNP, apparently a new record , I think Sterling had it before.
Dwan has scored 8 Super Shots, and although the score wouldnt have changed too much, its the psychological effect that is has that makes opposing teams feel like they’re so behind. No disrespect to the Firebirds but 77 goals is just an unacceptable defensive performance from the Swifts. If they don’t address building pressure further up the court they won’t win many more matches this season.
Tippah Dwan was dominant today. Dunkley, Dwan and Aiken were all excellent actually. She is too young and inexperienced to make the 12 but I really think Dwan needs to be in the Diamonds squad. Exposure to that high performance environment will help her and the Diamonds heading into 2022.
The week I sub out my firebirds players from the fantasy team……
Swifts were very messy but the pressure from firebirds was great. With fever‘s current form the swifts and vixens need to watch their top two spots!
Firebirds 77-Swifts 64
Aiken 43/54 (80%)
Dwan 26/31 (84%)Wallace 43/48 (90%)
Housby 13/19 (68%)
Garbin 2/3 (67%)Super shots: Dwan 8/9, Housby 4/10, Wallace 2/6
Assists: Dunkley 21
Gains: Hinchliffe 5MVP: Dwan
Outstanding win by Firebirds.
