Petty needs to let go of the ball, there were options yet she caused a held ball, not good and just as Thunderbirds were gaining some momentum
Thunderbirds failing to convert the rare turnovers that they’re getting
these commentators keep calling it when players come back on court but some of these players have been on the court since the start of the quarter, where is their attention?
such a quick shot from Potgieter when she is comfortable with where she is positioned in the circle, a great strength of hers.
Shimmin on at GDLead back to 5 now!
Thunderbirds with 5 in a row and bring the margin down to 5
the crowd really getting into this match, SO important for the Thunderbirds, they really don’t like the FIrebirds defenders 🤣
Margin back to 2!
The crowd really coming into it now as it gets close. Firebirds 44-41.
Petty is holding onto the ball for so long, nearly 3 or 4 held balls this quarter if she had kept them for a millisecond longer
thunderbirds need to just take the 1 when they can’t get into the 2 point zone, they’ve turned the ball over too many times in these last few minutes
MDD could not make it any clearer she wants Firebirds to win if she tried
Gardner came on at C towards the end of that quarter
Maybe some ill-placed feelings after being sacked by Netball SA..
Thunderbirds really need this win as the next few matches aren’t going to be easy and they need to keep their final’s hopes alive by not letting the gap between 4th and 5th on the ladder get too large
I’d like to see Mi Mi at C. She really grew into that roll last year. The Thunderbirds (and the crowd) have really risen but the Firebirds have rallied well, haven’t lost their heads at all. This front line seems mature beyond their years.
Both teams really need this for finals. If Firebirds lose they’re mathematically out, if T’Birds lose they’re still in with a technical chance but it becomes very, very difficult in reality.

3/4 time: Firebirds 46-42
Potgieter 23/24 (96%) 1/3 (33%)
Horjus 7/7 (100%) 5/8 (63%)Aiken 33/39 (85%)
Dwan 11/11 (100%) 1/5 (20%)Exactly the same 3/4 time score as the earlier game tonight. Firebirds seem like they’ve controlled most of the game but Tbirds right back in it.
