      1/2 time: Firebirds 37-32

      Koenen 12/12 (100%)
      Wood 8/9 (89%) 1/2 (50%)

      Aiken 26/30 (87%)
      Dwan 5/7 (71%) 3/6 (50%)

It’s like a whole different game with Wood on court. Lightning won that Q by 2 and it’s an even battle now. Good quality game.

Firebirds with their 3rd WA. Gardner on now.

Lightning should look to pick up Mi Mi. They need another attacking midcourt and she’d balance their team much better than Russell. If they go back to teams of 10 next season then I think she might be the midcourters to miss out at FBs.

Just seems like Lightning are slowly but surely getting on top.

What on earth was Dunkley doing wrong?

              Thought the same thing Ian.

I felt the circle feeds were a little messy in the first 5 minutes and were putting Aiken under pressure. But that settled and they were playing well.

Then again last week against Adelaide I thought Cassidy was great and she was replaced for a small period.

Wow the movement in the circle of Wood and Koenan is so beautiful to watch when it’s firing, the read so well off of each other.

Firebirds attack end has become very messy without Dunkley. They really need her back on court, Cassidy picking up the entire attacking load at present.

Steph Wood has had such a strange season. Week one she shot all the super shots, then actively refused to take any, now she’s going after them again. Add in the injury, bad form and random benchings and it’s been quite the odd year. Great to see her back to dominating though, it feels like it’s been a while.

That quarter felt alot more intense, pressure is starting to build on both teams. I’m not sure who I’m going for, probably Firebirds as a win from them keep Swifts in 3rd but the Lightning are just playing phenomenally.

                      3/4 time: Lightning 55-52

                      Koenen 25/25 (100%)
                      Wood 12/15 (80%) 4/5 (80%)

                      Aiken 38/42 (90%)
                      Dwan 6/9 (67%) 4/8 (50%)

Lightning starting to get right on top now. With seemingly more on the line for them, they should win from here. Wood, Langman, Pretorius, Maweni all great.

Dwan off the court with a bit of a hit at the shoulder when she went in for a contest. Stower on at GA

Venter should head to the super league next year. Can’t see her getting another SSN contract.

                          Gardner has 2 goal assists.

Could Cassidy be a Bolter for the broader Diamonds squad?

Dwan actually hurt her shoulder in the last few seconds of the game last week. So perhaps a knock to it today flared it.

Maweni/Pretorius working very hard and it’s paying off. Pretorius has kept Dwan quite while Maweni is just looking for those perfectly timed intercepts, not necessarily focusing on just covering Aiken which is smart because you won’t find a lot of ball like that

If Lightning complete this come back Wood has to be MVP. Koenen has been unstoppable at GS so far as well.

                                  Lightning playing some brilliant netball…
