Vixens need to inject the speed of Philip.
Honey has not been strong so far but the Vixens haven’t really tried to support her. Basically treating her as if she’s Liz Watson.
Mentor having a great game so far
Unfortunately for the Magpies, I think Vixens will ruin their lead with the super shot
Nelson has caused three turnovers so far by my count, Pies could be ahead by so much more. Vixens bring the gap back to 3
Magpies 12-11
This match reminds me so much of the Giants/Magpies game. Terrible start from Vixens/Giants but then supershot killed the Magpies’ momentum and then they ran away with it. Nelson starting to get expensive already.
Nice to hear Geitz give Eddy a wrap. The unsung hero. Does so much work. I’d put Eddy in the Diamonds squad.
It’s a bit sad really that Vixens have to resort to super shots to catch up to the team at the bottom of the ladder.
Mentor winning her battle with Thwaites even though she’s at GA…
Vixens aren’t driving onto the ball and Ward’s closing speed will eat this up all day.
They need Philip’s speed.
Nelson with 5 Turnovers in one quarter! Why the hell is she still on?
Thwaites’ mental block on Mentor seems to extend even to when she’s playing GA!!!
I’d like to see Philip be brought on at GA. Obviously it’s far too soon to say but it’s interesting to me that Vixens have favoured Honey over Dunkley. She has a bit more speed but she’s far less steady with the one handed feeds and everything’s a bit more telegraphed. She absolutely needs more support from her GA and C though.
Nelson puts herself under so much unnecessary pressure by constantly changing the space she holds. She makes easy takes look more difficult because she gives her GKs the opportunity to contest her hands in the air far more often than she needs to. The polar opposite of Garbin.
1/4 time: Magpies 17-12
Nelson 13/13 (100%)
Sinclair 2/2 (100%) 1/1 (100%)Kumwenda 5/6 (83%) 1/2 (50%)
Thwaites 1/2 (50%) 2/2 (100%)An idea of how much Magpies have dominated this so far is the NNP. Magpies 116, Vixens 26. Tayla Honey on -20. Ouch.
