Watson still out – not named on the bench, Honey starting for Vixens
        Dunkley starting again for Firebirds.

Always seem to get Honey and Dunkley mixed up. They’re both midcourters from Victoria, with WA as their best position, they look kind of similar, and they both come from big sporting families.

No Watson so I’m tipping an upset for the in form Firebirds.

Happy to see Watson is not being rushed back though with finals just around the corner. Why she went back on against Swifts though who knows.

Would like to see Elle McDonald get another go. I thought she was impressive last round.

I prefer Dunkley at C. But with the form of Cassidy I doubt she will get a go there.

Eddy and Dunkley are great mates. So it’s best friends against each other in that match up.

It is interesting. We’re seeing players get injuries and then coming back on later in the game, then they miss the next 1 or 2 games. So some wrong decisions are being made in the heat of the moment it seems.

The only reason I can think for Vixens putting Watson back on against Swifts was that they wanted to go 2-0 over Swifts as they play them in finals. Now they have the double chance and minor premiership wrapped up and they won’t play FBs in finals (so they won’t give a team an upper hand) so they feel they have the room to rest Watson. There is still another round before finals for Watson to play to get her rhythm back.

Thwaites is wearing compression socks on both calves today. Perhaps some tightness or fatigue there hence starting on the bench.

Vixens attack very messy. In contrast Firebirds very assured.

Philip throws the ball straight to Simpson…..

Great work by Eddy over the ball on circle edge picks up Dunkley’s pass.great cover of Dwan by Weston helped set it up.

Geez the Vixens attack end misses Watson. Honey has done a couple of great things defensively but Simpson is all over her

Cassidy having a brilliant start. I really think she could be a Bolter for a spot in the broader diamonds squad.

Firebirds were up 9-4 and in some sort of control before a series of turnovers sees it tied up at 11-11
