2020 SSN ROUND 14 – FEVER v THUNDERBIRDS
Sat Sep 26 – Fever v Thunderbirds (Brisbane)
7:30pm AEST (7pm SA, 5:30pm WA, 9:30pm NZ, 10:30am UK)Pitman playing with absolute class, can’t believe Thunderbirds aren’t offering her a contract for 2021
Three supershots in a row for Horjus, not fazed in the slightest by Bruce
63 all with 1min 24s left. Bruce calls a timeout
Bruce pushed to GD to deal with Horjus, Lewis comes on at GK. This could change a lot
WHAT A WIN! Thunderbirds win 64-63. Great way to send Pitman off and some emotional embraces at the end of that match.
T’birds you won on on the 2 point shots. Bye Chelsea. Hello Georgie (8/9 on the 2 point shots). Without the 2 point shot, T’Birds would have lost by 8.
MVP: Chelsea Pitman
Wow, absolute class from Pitman in that final interview. Very emotional towards the end, saying she hopes that this isn’t her last match at this level.
Thunderbirds really need a strong physical WA, not someone small and fast, and Pitman would have been amazing for that in the upcoming seasons
So the only two final results of matches that were altered because of the uspershot happened to occur this week.
God, Georgie Horjus is fearless! Ting and nil hesitation on the shot. Very emotional watching Chelsea’s interview – you can see how much she means to the team and it’s so great to seem them so united. They look like they’re really enjoying the netball this year… maybe this result will change management decisions?

It’s taken till the 2nd last game of the regular season, but we finally have a team turning a loss into a victory, thanks to super shots. Without super shots, that game was Fever’s 62-55.
And looking at that game, you just have to ask, why don’t they want Chelsea Pitman?
The super shots are proving to be a real problem for Fever. They are regularly dominating teams, only to have their leads eaten up by opposition super shots, while they are either unwilling or unable to shoot them.
