Ugh, must comment
Horjus: wow, what a little star! Those super shots without hesitation and under a lot of pressure. She needs to have a whisper in ATN’s ear about shots under pressure. Surprised Horjus didn’t get MVP although Chelsea was great.
ATN: sad to see the hesitation of old. I hope someone is working with her and that her mentor that helped her out of this last time is contactable, if not in their hub… Fever’s game was unfortunately lost on percentage and they must work on this…
Super shots: what a blow they lost to super shot strategy. Terrible news for the game. It didn’t even feel in general play that Thunderbirds were close… doesn’t feel like a great win to me… Fever also need to work on this and what they are going to do in finals about teams willing to super shot them out of the game…
Bruce: how sublime is she currently? Those rebounds were next to impossible and were real game-changers. What a star!Ian HarkinModeratorSeptember 27, 2020 at 8:42 amPost count: 14666
Stats aren’t everything. But they’re normally a pretty good guide to which team is playing the best. In this game, Fever’s total NNP was 443 and Tbirds 303.MontyandpoppyParticipantSeptember 27, 2020 at 8:51 amPost count: 185
It was also the feel of it. It actually didn’t feel like Tbirds could win based on performance. And that only changed with the super shot…Netballcrazy1ParticipantSeptember 27, 2020 at 10:38 amPost count: 2227
We seriously need Thunderbirds to change their decision. Could use a miracle right about now…MontyandpoppyParticipantSeptember 27, 2020 at 10:44 amPost count: 185
You’re right. It doesn’t make sense for any reason at all. She’s their best link, she doesn’t want to go. Doesn’t she also work with Obst at an international level?englishrose21ParticipantSeptember 27, 2020 at 12:07 pmPost count: 130
Did anyone notice how despondent the T’Birds were in the huddles when management/coaches were around? They must be completely baffled by the decision to drop Chelsea. They need her.
Also wow I watched the game and I didn’t realise how bad ATN’s shooting stats were, Guscoth really got under her skin.Netballcrazy1ParticipantSeptember 27, 2020 at 12:13 pmPost count: 2227
Considering Obst works with Pitman internationally, I am curious to know if it was her decision to drop her. I don’t really understand the dynamics of creating rosters and who has the biggest say so I am quite curious to see who made this decision and whyal_exParticipantSeptember 27, 2020 at 12:19 pmPost count: 1070
ATN’s shooting statistics are never good. Commentators have stopped talking about it but her season average is 54% and she’s shot a lot of sub-50% games. I don’t know why they haven’t tried her and Cosh the other way around.Netballcrazy1ParticipantSeptember 27, 2020 at 12:29 pmPost count: 2227
Does that season average count supershot attempts? I think her normal time average might be higherIan HarkinModeratorSeptember 28, 2020 at 7:10 amPost count: 14666Ian HarkinModeratorSeptember 28, 2020 at 9:38 amPost count: 14666
ATN’s shooting stats from game to game.
Total / 1 pt / 2 pt
10/15 . 6/11 . 4/4
11/16 . 8/10 . 3/6
2/4 . 1/2 . 1/2
4/12 . 4/7 . 0/5
2/5 . 2/4 . 0/1
1/5 . 1/3 . 0/2
5/9 . 3/6 . 2/3
10/14 . 7/10 . 3/4
7/13 . 6/8 . 1/5
3/8 . 2/3 . 1/5
13/20 . 9/12 . 4/8
6/10 . 2/4 . 4/6
0/1 . 0/0 . 0/1
4/11 . 3/8 . 1/3
So, 61.4% still isn’t going to cut it. She seemed to start the season so well, but she’s gradually gone back to her old ways.
