    1/4 time: Vixens 18-13

    Koenen 10/12 (83%)
    Wood 3/3 (100%) 0/1 (0%)

    Kumwenda 11/11 (100%) 1/1 (100%)
    Thwaites 5/5 (100%) 0/1 (0%)

Vixens on top here. Just 3 turnovers for the quarter. Mwai Kumwenda, what a star. 12/12, some glorious takes and a super shot on the buzzer.

    1/2 time: Vixens 33-28

    Koenen 16/19 (84%) 1/2 (50%)
    Wood 6/7 (86%) 1/3 (33%)

    Kumwenda 20/21 (95%) 1/1 (100%)
    Thwaites 9/9 (100%) 0/1 (0%)

That Q was 13-13. Unlike the first Q, Vixens a bit more scrappy and Lightning has given themselves a chance. Mannix having a mighty game.

GSs in both teams shooting about twice as much as their GAs.

JR, I reckon that’s one of the worst passes I’ve ever seen.

Liz Watson rested at half time. Lightning dominating this quarter so far. 36-36

    That b….y 2 point shot…..

That pass by Jo made no sense, there was a Vixen well clear to pass it to.

McDonald doing well, strong to the Circle line.

    3/4 time: Vixens 43-42

    Proscovia 7/9 (78%)
    Koenen 20/24 (83%) 1/2 (50%)

    Kumwenda 28/29 (97%) 1/1 (100%)
    Philip 3/4 (75%)

So, the gap is just one now. Both teams giving some of their players a rest and giving their bench players a run, but they still no doubt want to win it!

I am not sure I can watch this…So nerve racking. What will it be like next week?

Vixens have really stepped it up to start the last Q with a 6-1 run. 49-43 now.

The Lightning must be very thankful for the super shot!! Would have been overtaken by both Fever and Swifts this week. It feels odd that they’ll be in the Major SF next week.

Oh Steph, thank goodness Lightning had a poor few minutes that quarter and Vixens created a big enough lead to not be overtaken by 3 2 point shots by Steph in the last couple of minutes.

    MJ for MVP me thinks.

Stick a fork in the Lightning if you hadn’t already, they’re not winning a third title this year.. today was d-day for them in my opinion.. they had to beat the vixens or at the very least run them extremely close to give themselves some self belief to take into the finals.. the Lightning had a week and a half to prepare for that game and the vixens basically just came out and held them at arms length all afternoon..

The Lightning have no answers for the vixens
