The Magpies shooters having exceptional games. The Firebirds defenders don’t have an answer. Sinclair playing herself into another contract. Mentor has been excellent as usual.

Cassidy and Dwan having weaker games, probably justifying Marinkovic’s selections. Dunkley should come back on, maybe shift Mi Mi to C?

Nelson has been astonishing today. She’s going to be so good one day. I’ve also been impressed with Garrett, Bragg and Orr.

Agree, interesting to see Dwan with only 3 NNP but I still think she brings more to the table than Garbin at the moment.
Nelson and Sinclair having their best games this season, Nelson much stronger in the air today. Orr has been interesting to watch as well, is not an option sometimes around the circle but she’s doing good for what will probably be her first full game at this level.
Crazy to see the future of netball on court today, so much youth and potential.

Orr reminds me a bit of Rav. Not the strongest option in attack but a good link and doesn’t make many mistakes. She gives her WA and GA the space they need to do their work. Probably needs another year as a TP but she has potential. Similar story to Allen.

2 band hands from Nelson, first I’ve seen of it from her today, unfortunate timing as Firebirds now equalize.

40 seconds to go, Magpies play around trying to get in the super shot zone and they cause a turnover. score 64-63 for the Firebirds. Very unlucky loss for the Magpies

Mimi in tears after the whistle blows, you get the feeling the pressure from not playing last week carried over to this week.

Seriously, too many timeouts means not enough time at the end of the game to see Maddy’s farewell. They had to miss it so they could talk to Simpson – the MVP -who spoke beautifully about Mi Mi.

Do better SSN and 9…we should have been able to see both.

                              Hope all is OK Ian.

There were so few posts on the game threads yesterday, I wondered if people were boycotting the games because of Jenke’s actions towards Mi Mi last week. Eerily quiet here.

Mentor normally gets the best of Aiken in the second half when they play. This time, while Mentor was firmly on top, Aiken really came through in those last couple of minutes to win it for the Firebirds.

Devastating to see Mi Mi so emotional at the end of the game. The hug from Aiken made me teary. I am glad Mi Mi got the opportunity to run out the game, although I do think she still needs to work on her decision making on the feed and the quality of her drive option down the court.

I think Cassidy’s main improvement this year is her defence. Last year she used to jog in defence and it drove me nuts. Love her extra hustle this year, it really is wearing down her opposition more (which then opens her up in attack).

We had an upgrade to the site on Friday night. After that, for some reason, some of us couldn’t get on here while others could. It seemed to be completely random. And I was one of the ones who couldn’t get on. But that’s why it was so quiet. I’m back now.
