Would have been great to have Guscoth and Glasgow back for this match but I think they’ll be back for the next round. Still a great opportunity for some of the players to really step up and prove themselves.

I can’t explain my hate for this two point shot. It’s a bad reflection of the hard work put out in the first ten minutes and it’s not even a long range shot. I thought Thunderbirds were really gelling and they a goal ahead right before the last five minutes but that two point shot is not a good representation of what is now a 7 point difference

I don’t know why Shimmin and Sterling don’t just stand at the top of the circle and force all super shots to be from the sideline. Harten is clearly less comfortable shooting from there, the one time they did it she missed.

                    1/4 time: Giants 19-14

                    Giants 16/19 (3/4)
                    Tbirds 13/16 (1/4)

                    Super shots:
                    Harten 3/4

Well, Thunderbirds were totally matching it with Giants, but then the power play arrived and Giants dominated through Harten. For Tbirds, Horjus being replaced by Gooden didn’t work well.

Apparently Petty is actually sick. Geitz reported that she has a non-covid related illness.

Petty is ill according to commentators, will be missed in that mid court I think, Nankivell is doing well but I think they’re missing a little drive at C

Meanwhile in Fiji, I turned on the TV only to find the Giants vs Tbirds game on. NRL did not grant our local tv stations the right to broadcast their games so we had to find other alternatives and oh man, not a bad replacement at all. Also checked our local tv guide and all broadcast matches will be shown. A dream come true ?

2 timeouts in the space of 2 minutes in the 2nd Q, seriously.!!!!!

Does each team have one timeout per quarter? It’s the 2bd quarter and I feel like it’s the second time Giants have called it

Thunderbirds really need to work on their through court attack. Especially being a team that is extremely good defensively, converting turnovers is a massive thing!

Tbirds doing very well here. Fighting back to 23-23. But that last 5 minutes is coming up and that’s Harten time. Sophie Dwyer also now on for Giants.
