The Swifts need a WD change I have no idea why it hasn’t come. Fraser is not the answer. Koenen absolutely dominated Turner that quarter, she’s not a GK.
Wallace has been a lot worse at the super shot than I expected. I think it’s more mental than ability related, she used to shoot that range when the shots were worth one.
Think the swifts should have a back three of Turner Moore and Klau
Live scoring seems to be bugged, not updating time or score.
Brilliant third quarter by Lightning to lead by 10 at three quarter time. How good were some of those circle feeds by the Lightning during that quarter? A pleasure to watch.
3/4 time: Lightning 50-40
Stand up Cara Koenen! She’s dominating that circle down there. The whole Lightning team has lifted dramatically and Swifts haven’t been able to go with them so far. A quarter to go. Can Swifts fight back?
Halfway through the last Q, and the lead hasn’t changed. Lightning by 10.
Koenan is amazing, I can’t see Swifts winning this
Koenen should probably start in her Diamonds debut!
5 1/2 mins left. Basically Swifts’ only chance is to get some gains and sink about half a dozen super shots!
Langman, Pretorius, Scherian, Wood… heck, the whole team’s been marvellous, but Cara Koenen is a standout.
FT: Lighting 63-57
Swifts scores was it five super shots that quarter? Didn’t go down without a fightLighting really just have been so dominant for the SSN’s duration and it doesn’t look like this year will be any different
Swifts with 5 super shots at the end, but to no avail. It’s amazing how pressure changes things, Wallace didn’t make a single super shot all game and then shot the last three, never really looked like missing.
Koenen is so good. She has everything: movement, timing, strength, athleticism, strong hands. Really showed the difference between her and Garbin today I think. Scherian also played very well today.
There’s an interesting triangle developing where the Lightning generally look comfortable against the Swifts (last year’s GF being the exception), the Swifts against the Vixens and the Vixens against the Lightning. It’ll be interesting to see how that Swifts/Vixens match goes.
I think Akle needs to swap with the subs! Way too many changes they weren’t able to get into a rhythm in the front end. Well played by lightning though especially Koenan. Turner looked slow after a few games off. She should have kept Klau and Moore on in the back end.
