Really? So Magpies are saying that the game was a draw? I will be very interested to see what happens with that, hopefully they say something about later in the day to clarify
I believe the fever are contesting the score. There were a couple of times where the goals were given to the wrong team but I noticed it for the magpies 2 point shot.
I did think this as I saw no goals being applied when pies took some shots in the last quarter… thought my eyes were playing tricks on me.
I think the shot they might be talking about happened with about 6 or 7 minutes left in the third quarter. Pies score jumped by two at that stage and I thought they might have been correcting a previous score error.
Was there a goal scored as a 1-point when I thought it had been scored from the 2-point zone, and was just as the time clicked over.
Is a goal a 2-point goal if caught in the 2-point zone prior to the 5 minutes but scored within the 5 minutes of super-shot time? Or does the goal only count as 2-point if caught in the zone within the 5 minute timeframe?
Just at the end of Giants vs Firebirds the commentators clarified that Fever have 24 hours to lodge a complaint so I don’t think it would make any difference to who won.
@schmeetle I would assume it would count as 2 points. If time is called and the ball has left the hands but hasn’t entered the ring it doesn’t count
So I assume if it leave the hand at 5:01 and goes through the ring at 5:00 it will be counted as a 2 point shotI’e watched the replay at the point Scott mentioned and yes, the scorers screw it up (about 8:25 to go in 3rd quarter). Magpies score and they gave the goal to Fever. At 7 minute mark they correct it, after a couple more goals have been scored. So if you only look at that corrected point you’d say Fever have been ripped off, but it is actually a correction.
I didn’t watch all the game so missed that.
So unless there has been another point (
) of contention…

Have just rewatched the game with a friend. In the 1st quarter, they gave the Magpies a point when they hadn’t scored and at another point, they didn’t give the fever a point when they did score in the second quarter. The score of the opening quarter was 21 – 10 and they correct it at the quarter time break and then they change it back to the wrong score at the start of the 2nd quarter (21-11).

August 15, 2020 at 8:15 pmPost count: 4Yeah, I thought I saw a mistake in the second quarter. When the last five minutes of the second qtr began, the Fever were on 30. Then Teague-Neeld scored a super shot, and Fowler followed up with just a 1-point goal. The score correctly moved to 33, but then a few seconds later changed to 32 and wasn’t corrected. Fever should have been on 38 at half-time, not 37.
There were several corrections all day. It was crazy. In the other game, it was supposedly 17-14 at 1/4 time and that’s how the commentators called it, but in the break, it was then corrected to 18-14.

Liz Ellis said during pre-match commentary Tues 18 that it was two goals that were mis-scored. ATN’s goal that was scored as a 1 point but should have been 2 but also a Magpies goal that was scored as a 2 that should have been a 1.
So the final score should have been Fever 64 Magpies 61
