So effectively the entire difference is due to the Super Shot.
Was just typing out “lead back to just 3” and all of a sudden the wheels fell off a bit for Fever. 39-33
I really hate that shooting percentage sits at 100% when a player has missed SuperShots. If you miss from anywhere you should be penalized in the percentages
Their overall % gets reduced, James. It’s just the % from 1 point range that stays at 100.
3/4 time: Vixens 52-45
Fowler 34/34 (100%) 1/4 (25%)
Cosh 1/1 (100%) 2/2 (100%)Thwaites 24/24 (100%) 2/6 (33%)
Philip 10/11 (91%) 7/8 (88%)Well done, Fever. It’s amazing to think they’re within striking distance here. Vixens won that Q by just 1.
I just added up the scores pretending there’s no two point shot – I think Vixens would be 5 ahead (43-38) at 3/4 time.
Vixens 62-56.
Fever are giving this a red hot go. At the moment, the difference is that power play in the first Q. It’s been goal for goal ever since!
Cosh has improved immensely since the pre season comp last year. As I wrote that Weston deflects her shot.
This has been more of a traditional performance by Moloney. Was great in the first two rounds. But tonight much less movement in attack and more hesitant.
Fever with the chance to narrow the margin by 4 with super shots during thE last two minutes but don’t take it and go for the one instead. Don’t like the super shots but if it’s there and your behind why not use it
Thwaites – Philip are definitely the strongest shooting combination for Vixens.
Kumwenda will still get plenty more court time and I’d expect her to start against Giants.MVP will be Philip. Although I would actually go Watson who had her best game of the season. Was very safe with the ball whereas Philip was reasonably high with turnovers. Philip, Watson, Thwaites and Mannix were all very good.
I am enjoying watching Aryang. Great young defender.

Without super shots, that would have been a nail-biting 58-56 win for Vixens. Instead it was a relatively straightforward 68-59 win. In that last Q, try as they might, Fever just couldn’t make an impression on Vixens’ lead.
