Hadley on at WD, Craig off
Just think those 3 straight super shots from Housby in the 3rd Q probably took all the wind out of the Firebirds’ sails. Right after she gave Kim Jenner “the look”.
Swifts 54-47
Yes, those three super shots really relieved the pressure a little for the Swifts which is good for them but I do question if the super shot is helpign inconsistent teams close the gap or blow out the score too quickly.
Interesting comment from Simpson telling her team to go hard for five minutes because they only have one more timeout to use.
Think Kim Jenner was wrong to smile when Housby gave her that look, she plays better when she’s angry from the looks of things and is bringing the Swifts along too. The Firebirds are so exciting and I say that as a very scared Swifts fan but a very happy diamonds fan. I think if Bueta comes back next season and the defenders improve their timing and discipline that little bit more they’ll be unstoppable.
Mimi on at WA
I missed that Housby look to Jenner but heard the commentators mention it. When was it? Might watch the replay just to see it
Ellis back at GK for the power 5, really not sure why
Timeout with just over 5 mins left. Swifts up by 10. They won’t be losing from here
Venter on at GA for the last 2 minutes, scores a super shot
Simpson puts a foot completely out of the court while catching a pass from an intercept and the umpire missed it and the Firebirds get a super shot from that.
Interesting, to me Wallace’s goal did not pass through the net before the whistle went but it counted…
Round 5…. and still Firebirds haven’t worked out how to play in the power plays. They gained 3 goals during that last 5 minutes, but some of the decision making was still very poor. And why was Dwan taken off???
I thought they were doing it as a play on as someone from the swifts basically knocked it out of her hands… usually they say play on though.
But yes I’d like to see the housby look / Jenner smile as I must have missed it! Anyone remember the time stamp?!
