GK PoolmanFitzgerald finally starts Hay at WA, good to see. I just realised that from next season we will return to only 3 on the banch and that worries me. I really hope they go back to 12, really makes the games more interesting
I agree. They’ve talked about how benches of twelve creates issues because of players not being contracted (and a lack of funds to expand teams to 12 I assume), but I think it’s fine to have two training partners on the bench.
The Giants have so many good shooters, interesting to see how many they can hold on to.
Fever, Thunderbirds, and Giants all have too many shooters to hang onto next year (TPs getting court time included)
Hay and JLP clash, JLP comes off after the collision (her jaw). O’Brien gets an opportunity at WA, Hay moves to C
1/4 time: Lightning 16-15
Koenen 10/10 (100%)
Wood 4/5 (80%) 1/1 (100%)Bassett 9/11 (82%)
Harten 4/5 (80%) 1/2 (50%)Nice competitive quarter, with Lightning just shading it. Langman already working overtime. Proscovia and Austin now coming on…
Koenan on at GA and Proscovia at GS
Austin on at GA and Harten on at GSPretorius looks like she may have injured herself but it could be nothing. Russel on at WD and Unie at GD
O’Brien is a lot slower than her Swifts days, definitely didn’t have the impact I’d hoped. I understand better now why Fraser was favoured.
Giants have so much more flow with Hay/Austin/Harten. I can’t believe how far Hay has come since her Swifts days.
This is a strange quarter. Lightning have made several changes with star players sitting on the bench at various times. Not surprisingly, Giants are winning this Q and lead 27-24 overall.
Lightning have a great seven but they’re really lacking some depth. The backup WDs have been pretty solid but Lee-Jones, Hunt and Proscovia have been quite exposed I think.
Bassett and Harten just don’t seem to work.
1/2 time: Giants 31-30
Proscovia 8/8 (100%)
Wood 6/7 (86%) 2/4 (50%)Harten 11/12 (92%) 1/2 (50%)
Austin 7/7 (100%) 1/2 (50%)No idea who’s going to win this one, but it will probably be the team which is the more settled in the 2nd half and has to make less changes.
