Liz and Cath tipped Thunderbirds to win but I think Lightning have the upper hand.

Hello, I want to watch the ANZP Grand Final at 4.45pm. So I can only watch the first half of the T’Birds v Lightning game. Does anyone know how long it is before the REPLAY is added to the Netball app so I know when I can watch the second half of this game? Many thanks.

Thanks for answering Ian. Not sure I’ll want to watch the second half of this game at this rate.

Koenen using her movement really well to beat Sterling. She’s just so versatile, seems to match up well against all types of defenders.

The South African defenders seem to read Potgieter very well. She hasn’t had a huge impact.

                    1/4 time: Lightning 16-9

                    Koenen 10/11 (91%)
                    Wood 6/8 (75%)

                    Potgieter 5/5 (100%)
                    Horjus 4/6 (67%) 0/1 (0%)

Lightning have stifled the Tbirds’ play here. They’re finding it very difficult to find their shooters. In contrast, Koenen and Wood looking settled at the other end.

Potgieter on 9/9. She needs another 9/9 to make it 100 straight goals without a miss.

Um look, is it wrong that I’ve seen the Team Girls song about eleventy squillion times and I still don’t know what they sing?

Steph Wood just shot a lovely “long bomb” about 10 secs before the power play and just got the normal one goal for it. A tad anticlimactic. Lightning 26-18

                            1/2 time: Lightning 27-22

                            Koenen 16/18 (89%)
                            Wood 11/15 (73%)

                            Potgieter 14/14 (100%)
                            Horjus 6/8 (75%) 1/3 (33%)

Very defensive game. Just like just a regulation tough competitive game. Lightning has not put up a single super shot so far. They lead by 5 but Tbirds well in it.

…and Potgieter needs another 4 goals to bring up 100 without a miss. I held my breath a bit there when she lined up a 2 point shot, only to pass off.

This is shaping up to be a battle of the defenders both sides have fantastic defensive line ups. I think the Lightning attack is that little bit more polished. I’m hoping for a Tbirds upset but want to see Koenan play well on Sterling.

Do we know if Hodges is carrying an injury? Its weird that she’s not in the 12 or getting any court time. In a condensed season positions like GA and GD benefit from being able to have a rest. I just don’t get it shes a playmaker who’s not afraid to shoot long and has experience playing SSN and ANZP level netball. To me Glasgow is a GS and should be played as such, she creates a lot more from there that leaves Horjus as their only GA option really and only long bomb option while Lenize is in that GS position making it straight forward for the Lightning to know what their strategy is come SS time.
