Austin is playing so well for Giants and Thwaites for Vixens. Both have been switched over and not skipped a beat. I think the Giants defenders are struggling with the way Thwaites and Kumwenda play together in the circle, its very non-traditional.Ian HarkinModeratorAugust 23, 2020 at 2:31 pmPost count: 17170
3/4 time: Vixens 50-48
Kumwenda 12/13 (92%) 3/3 (100%)
Thwaites 20/20 (100%) 1/4 (25%)
Austin 16/16 (100%) 8/8 (100%)’
Harten 12/14 (86%) 2/4 (50%)
Vixens much improved. Great last Q in prospect and the way these teams are going, it could come down to the super shots.Ian HarkinModeratorAugust 23, 2020 at 2:36 pmPost count: 17170
Well, Vixens have dominated the start of this last Q and now have a 6 goal lead. Going to be hard for Giants to peg that back and give themselves a chance going into the last 5 minutes.al_exParticipantAugust 23, 2020 at 2:37 pmPost count: 1082
Harten has been a bit off, I’m surprised they haven’t brought Bassett on at GS. I wonder if there’s something bigger going on. The Giants defenders really need to stay in play and build pressure.
I much prefer Mannix/Eddy/Weston in these positions than the other way around. Weston’s arms are so much more effective in WD.Ian HarkinModeratorAugust 23, 2020 at 2:42 pmPost count: 17170
Vixens up by 3 with 4 minutes left. Here we go.Ian HarkinModeratorAugust 23, 2020 at 2:44 pmPost count: 17170
All of a sudden, when the Giants REALLY need a super shot, they can’t get one. That’s pressure.TullyParticipantAugust 23, 2020 at 2:46 pmPost count: 1359Ian HarkinModeratorAugust 23, 2020 at 2:48 pmPost count: 17170
Good tough win for Vixens. They were really challenged today and I think Giants showed that they’re much better than their lowly position on the ladder suggests.TullyParticipantAugust 23, 2020 at 2:53 pmPost count: 1359
How predictable Moloney gets MVP. Price won that battle. Yes Gaudion Moloney does t make mistakes but she doesn’t create and go for it in attack. That all falls on Watson and Thwaites and Philip.
Thwaites deserves that MVP.al_exParticipantAugust 23, 2020 at 2:56 pmPost count: 1082
Thwaites was definitely the lynchpin in attack. Her versatility is exceptional, I don’t think it really matters where she plays but she needs to be on the court for the Vixens. The Giants had absolutely no answers.Ian HarkinModeratorAugust 23, 2020 at 3:03 pmPost count: 17170
Vixens 63-Giants 58
Kumwenda 25/28 (89%)
Thwaites 24/28 (86%)
Philip 8/12 (67%)
Austin 30/34 (88%)
Harten 17/22 (77%)
Super shots: Austin 8/9, Kumwenda 3/4, Harten 3/6, Thwaites 1/5
Assists: Watson 26
Gains: Eddy, Mannix, Poolman 4
MVP: MoloneyIan HarkinModeratorAugust 23, 2020 at 3:04 pmPost count: 17170
MVP voters seem to love Kate Moloney this year.mcleodParticipantAugust 23, 2020 at 3:12 pmPost count: 1508
Giants have played CBass for 60min just once, they won that game.
Every other game CBass has spent some or all of the game on the bench. Giants haven’t won any of those games.al_exParticipantAugust 23, 2020 at 3:16 pmPost count: 1082
I’m not sure how comparable Fever are with Lightning and Vixens.DiamondsFANParticipantAugust 23, 2020 at 3:31 pmPost count: 43
I wonder what would have happened if Bassett was on the court.
