GK KlauWould like to see Magpies try Sinclair at WA and Allen at GA. Such a thin bench for the pies.
I feel like Garbin is very underrated at GA. She plays with a lot of creativity, she is strong and she’s happy to do the work out the front. She definitely plays GA differently than she plays GS but she shows great variety.
Craig got better as the quarter went on but I’d like to see one of the circle defenders on at WD. I think Turner could be effective there. Klau having a far far better game.
1/4 time: Swifts 20-13
Nelson 10/10 (100%) 1/1 (100%)
Sinclair 1/1 (100%)Wallace 15/16 (94%) 1/1 (100%)
Garbin 3/4 (75%)Magpies are really trying their guts out, but Swifts just seem to be a class above. No Housby, no worries. Wallace and Garbin on top so far.
Interesting to note that 4/14 players on court right now are South Australians by birth. And 4 others are internationals
So after doing nothing special the magpies have cut down a lead that took 10 minutes to build in about 2 minutes. F the Super Shot
1/2 time: Swifts 36-27
Allen 1/1 (100%) 1/2 (50%)
Sinclair 3/4 (75%) 2/3 (67%)Wallace 25/27 (93%) 1/2 (50%)
Garbin 4/6 (67%) 1/1 (100%)Garbin sinks a super shot right on half time for Swifts to win the Q. After being soundly beaten in the 1st Q, Magpies now more competitive.
Magpies are really giving it everything at the moment. They’re not out of this. The defence of Mentor in particular is giving them chances. They just need to take them.
Swifts 44-38
Garbin has gotten really shaky on the shot the last few rounds. Maybe the hype after her Fever performance put some pressure on. Still very dominant in the air though. Singleton still looks very nervy but I like what I see, the Swifts have done a great job developing their training partners. I can see a contract for her in a few years!
3/4 time: Swifts 48-42
Ryde 14/18 (78%)
Sinclair 4/6 (67%) 2/4 (50%)Garbin 7/12 (58%) 1/1 (100%)
Singleton 4/8 (50%)Swifts on top but Magpies ate into the lead by 3 goals in that Q. You feel they’re just going to come up a bit short tonight, but they’re giving it a crack.
Briony has put a lot of faith in her young players. The only way for them to learn is to go out and miss 3 shots bc of Geva Mentor as the saying goes
Garbin’s left the court with an ankle injury. Doesn’t look overly serious. She may come back on. Swifts 52-45
