Don’t quite understand rds 7 and 9 being closed games, does it cost more $$ if they have a bit of a crowd.

Yeah, that doesn’t make a whole lot of sense to me @mcleod. Are they cleaning the whole stadium in between games, and its costing them a fortune?

I think they only make money from crowds when they are decently full, and the crowds have been very empty even for Firebirds and Lightning games. It makes sense to shut off the mid-week games, but I would have thought they could get enough to the weekend games to keep them open. I feel like this will affect a few players and teams, especially the showy ones like Sterling, Wallace etc. who seem to really play off the crowd support.

Looking at the TV ratings, 82,000 and 83,000 for the 2 Saturday games. Is that acceptable or not, it seems less than previous years.

The regional figures aren’t being added for some reason. And they make up a good % of the figures. This is basically the same as in previous years, not up, not down.

Normally the ratings would be something like…

Capitals 80-90,000
Regionals 40-45,000
Total 120-135,000
