Thanks Ian, those figures seem not to bad, considering they were up against Super Cars, AFL, NRL, etc.
Yeah, the most popular sports at this time of year are AFL, NRL and motor racing. Apart from that, netball generally comes next. Which is pretty good.

My take on last night … https://t.co/afgj0279RN
— Liz Ellis (@LizzyLegsEllis) August 20, 2020
Is it just me or have Liz and the commentary team’s takes this year gotten pretty off kilter. It was easy to ignore their super shot comments because they’re paid to say that but these opinion pieces are just a bit strange. The fact that the original warning has only been mentioned in passing by all three shows a shocking lack of awareness of the rules and Manu’a’s play for supposed experts.
I think that Liz is still playing to her Channel 9 role – after all they’ve already managed to get SSN to change the way the game is played for 1/3 of each quarter with relatively little outcry. Now she is trying to get them to change the game management part of the IFN rules.
She is someone who really should know better.
She is treading a very fine line when complaining about umpires applying the rules & questioning their judgements. I’d be more likely to believe her if she could show me her umpiring qualification – at least Sue Gaudion has actually umpired games even if not recently & would have completed the “Rules of Netball” course as part of her coaching accreditation!
