These anthems with no vocals are awful. Could they not get a singer in to learn four anthems?
Not the usual spinetingling start.

GK Watson1/4 time: NZ 18 v Jam 11
An early 6-3 lead to Jamaica looked promising but it soon disappeared as NZ scored 10 of the next 11 goals. The kiwis found it much easier to find a teammate and the Jamaicans were heavily penalised in the circle. Let’s see if that continues.
1/2 time: NZ 32 v Jam 22
An interesting point in that quarter. NZ having made the obviously predetermined change of Wilson off/Selby-Rickit on, Jamaica clawed back the deficit to 22-19. So back on came Wilson and NZ went on another run of 9 out of 11 goals.
3/4 time: NZ 51 v Jam 31
A totally dominant quarter from NZ. Maia Wilson stamping herself as definitely the number one GS in the side. But… the umpiring. In 2 Qs with Jamaica going to right of screen in this game, the penalty count is 40-11 against them. Seriously?
Full time: NZ 71 v Jam 45
Wilson 42/45 (93%)
Ekenasio 18/22 (82%)

I didn’t think we would win by this much sheesh!
I’m just watching the game now.

GK MaweniHere’s the link to watch England vs South Africa…
1/4 time: SA 16 v Eng 13
Good competitive game. Standout player for me so far is Rademan. The English defence has Potgieter well marked, but Rademan has just stepped up beautifully. She should have started against Jamaica.
1/2 time: SA 26 v Eng 25
Good game this one. An example of how you need to be on your game all the way… with the score at 26-23, Rademan for the first time lacked confidence in her shot, tried to pass off to Potgieter, SA lost possession and Eng narrowed the gap.
3/4 time: Eng 42 v SA 37
Eng gained the upper hand in that Q. 17 goals to 11. Cardwell is dominating up front and Francis is having a great game at the back. Hard to see SA coming back now, but it’s not impossible. Rademan was replaced by Venter in that Q.

Nice win England and well deserved.
I thought Francis really pressured the SA attackers all game. Best performance I think I have ever seen from her. Well deserved MVP.
Amy Carter is just awesome! Cardwell and Fisher are excellent behind Harten and Houseby. Good developing so far for England.
SA also got the chance to run some new players. Rademan emerged at the right time. I don’t think Ventor is the answer at all. I think she needs to be dropped for a GS/GA swinger. I didn’t think Pretorius/ Maweni did anything special. Maybe I need to rewatch, but it felt like they were out of play most of the time. Or the timing was a bit off.
Full time: Eng 58 v SA 54
Stacey Francis got the nod as player of the match. No worries there. Well deserved. Also great performances from Cardwell, Haythornthwaite and Carter. Two of SA’s big guns in Potgieter and Pretorius were nullified to a great extent.
