Halftime:
Surrey 24 Pulse 28Pulse had a 12 goal lead just before the end of the first quarter. Storm were struggling to find Bailey and Burger was on fire. Storm found a way to correct their errors in Q2 and dogged defence finally wore Pulse down and they managed to cut the lead by half.
Burger playing GA, not sure if this is a good move.
A close game going on between Surrey Storm and London Pulse. Pulse got out of the blocks VERY quickly and led 19-6 at 1/4 time. But Storm fought back and they now they lead 39-38 going into the last quarter.
Meanwhile, Wasps are leading Mavericks 31-25 at 1/2 time.
London Pulse wins!!!
Surrey Storm looked to have it in control half way through the last quarter, but the Pulse defence forced turnovers and surged late to take the victory 51-50.
Fulltime
Surrey 50 London Pulse 51Pulse let a 10+ goal lead slip. They were losing by 2 with 2 mins to go. Oh said the commentator Pulse need a turnover. Up jumps Fadoju from a 3 foot guard and takes the ball cleanly, WOW
I saw Fadoju play at the Netball Europe U21s last year as a 17 year old (I think), and if she is not a future star for the Roses, then I’ve got no clue about netball. She will be picking off intercepts for years to come.
Game stats: (from Sky TV)
Surrey
shots 66
Percentage 75
Intercepts 7
Turnover 11
Rebounds 8London Pulse
shots 59
Percentage 86
Intercepts 9
Turnover 14
Rebounds 7Fadoju, Tamsin said you can’t teach some to put on a 3 foot guard and jump up like that to intercept a ball.
Ian you’re right.
I think she just needs to spend a holiday in Oz with Mkoloma and the Swifts, then WOW
Wasps held off Mavericks 57-53 in the final game of the round.
Rd2 comes to a close…
Stars 56 v Thunder 65
Lightning 59 v Sirens 53
Dragons 52 v Bath 71
Storm 50 v Pulse 51
Wasps 57 v Mavericks 53Great round. All 10 teams looked on top at various stages of their matches. Only one real blowout and we know why that happened
Who was given player of the match in the Storm v Pulse game, Jinxibo? Was it Fadoju. Or didn’t they give one?

Thanks. A bit of a strange one. From the losing side again? I think that makes 3 of the 6 TV games so far where a player on the losing side has got it. Out here, because of time constraints, they tend to do the voting with still about 5-7 mins to go. Not sure if it’s the same over there, but that would account for it.
Thanks for that Phil,
It’s a strange one, but to be honest they seem to be giving the POM to the most deserving player regardless of the overall result. Can’t recall some of Rd 1 one games but I do remember Wilson getting POM on a losing side and she was outstanding.
Last night I thought Fadoju would get the call especially as she pulled of the two match winning interceptions however, Kowalewska presence was a game changer. The turnaround began for Storm from the moment she stepped in court.
I suppose the really strange thing is that the same thing happened in Rd 1. Kowalewska didn’t make the starting 7 and when she came on the clawed it back slowly and the same thing happened last night. I think she should be starting.
Pulse however, were very very lucky. IMO they have a fitness issue. There was no pre movement as the ball came down court and Storm looked a more sharper and hungrier. Thomas just seemed to be running round in circles. Her and Deckker’s (?) feeds and ball placement were :negative: . Have to admit I would have taken Thomas off a lot earlier.
