Agree with Adine Wilson, get Te Paea under the hoop and shooting goals. Her feeding is beautiful but needs to get her confidence, and volume up on the shot.

Better quarter for Magic, but the damage was done in that first 15 mins. Turnovers now 17-10 against Magic. Gains 10-6 to Tactix.

Agreed McLeod, Burger is having a cracker game.

Her, Watson, add in Fitzpatrick and that’s a strong Ferns defensive trio. Be interesting if selectors pick Jury as their fourth defender for height, or give Burley a go. Similar ilk to Watson and Burger, has the combination with Fitzpatrick.

Yep the feeds are off to Bassett and she’s pulled in a few ugly balls which easily could have gone out the back door like a number of those turnovers.

Magic midcourt need to give on the first second to avoid the Tactix defenders coming around and nabbing.

3/4 time: Tactix 49-38

Much better quarter from Magic, winning it 16-14. They’re going to regret that 1st Q. Tactix has the game well in hand, but let’s see how they finish off. In their past two games, they’ve let their opponents score the last 7 goals of the game!

Bassett landed funny – not that she fell over but looked to have tweaked her knee. Didn’t finish the game.

Poor Winders, assumedly, couldn’t do another Captain’s interview so Mikaere given the duties.

Think Magic need to make a call between Mikaere and Fakahokotau next year. Don’t think they can or should carry both. Mikaere is fit but slow. Faka is not fit, and not as fast as what she was a few yesterday ago for the Tactix. Hmm.

Full time: Tactix 68-51 (MVP: Karin Burger)

A comprehensive win by Tactix. They didn’t take their foot off the pedal today. Magic just not in the same class. No Kara at WA and in the end, 29 turnovers for Magic against just 18 for Tactix. Burger and Watson combined for 14 gains!
