Wow – Malesala 18/20 and not even three quarter time.
Sulu moves out to GD to play on Malesala. Agbeze on at GK.
I can understand now, why Bailey Mes is needed in the GA position. She helps calm down the speedy midcourt they have, and I think she gives Nweke a lot of confidence. Every base line throw in, Mes has gone straight to Nweke and quite easily too.
This is a great game to watch!
OMG Sulu is so good to watch. What a talent.
Oceane Maihi gets a warning. I didn’t hear her getting a caution.
I think she got warned for dangerous play. As Nweke went up for a ball, she came underneath her.
The wonderful thing is if you are a high performing team e.g the Stars with 4 decent shooters, someone will get snapped up next season.
Full time: Mystics 65-57 (MVP: Grace Nweke)
Wilson: 35/41 – 85%
Malesala: 22/27 – 81%Nweke: 55/59 – 93%
Vui: 7/8 – 88%
Mes 3/4 – 75%MVP: Grace Nweke
Malesala another Ex magic player
Ian, in the article Stuff article about Magic being run by NNZ there is a pic of the 2012 winning team. Any chance you can post it here? it would be fun trying to name all the players
Any particular reason why Hume didn’t play last night (beside Malesala being on fire?)
Home ground advantage is neither here or there between the two Auckland teams.
Hume injured her shoulder at Ferns camp after the previous game. Then again at Stars training.
They did miss her last night.I thought Malesala had a sweet shot but Burley slowed down her entry into the circle.
I wonder what Hume has done to her shoulder. One of them has been strapped all season so am assuming it is the same one.
I like Malesala. She is a consistently reliable shooter and she is very fit, I have hoped she would get more game time this season.
