Silver Ferns defence is playing really well – really impressed with Jury on Fisher
Still hoping maybe the Roses can turn this around – feels like Mentor, Williams, and Guscoth are doing well, they just need to convert
Ferns outscored Roses 14-4 in that second quarter…..! Wow
1/2 time: NZ 26-16
Wilson 16/19 (84%)
Selby-Rickit 10/12 (83%)Fisher 13/16 (81%)
Drakeford-Lewis 3/4 (75%)
Cardwell 0/0Penalties: Eng 30-15
Turnovers: Eng 18-12The Ferns really put the foot down in that Q. Their defence is on top and TPSR is having a great game.
14 goals to 4 OMG and down by 10 at half time
I have to admit I’m disappointed with the Roses but having said that I expected Jade to start at C with Serena at WD.
Ian can you post the link to the stats page again please.
That attack end is really working well tonight and Jury and Burger are getting in the english shoots heads and making them making mistakes.
Still confused as to why Thirlby got the job over Greenway. Feels like it will be Harten, Housby and Haythornthwaite that will get England over the line, not because the head coach is making great strategic choices.
I think we’re seeing what happens when players play in their preferred position. Now we have Cardwell starring at GS after struggling at GA last game.
Roses showing their trademark comeback spirit with Ferns’ 10 goal margin reduced to 4 at the end of Q3. Cardwell came on well at GS and scored about 4 off the trot. Clarke also on for Guthrie at C towards the end of that quarter. Big final Q coming up!
3/4 time: NZ 36-32
Maia Wilson 22/25 (88%)
Selby-Rickit 14/18 (78%)Fisher 13/16 (81%)
Cardwell 13/13 (100%)
Drakeford-Lewis 6/7 (86%)Penalties: Eng 39-27
Turnovers: Eng 20-17Roses won that Q 16-10 and it’s all to play for in the last Q of the series. Who wins?
@gadvocate, I think that counts for both sides. You can also heard the ferns yelling held
Taurua to her defence – start doing what we talked about. Not mincing her words!
