@Jinxibo – I’m not sure if the Tactix might be able to play against them. Travel is open within NZ excepting Auckland. @McLeod might know – I’m in Auckland, still well locked down but McLeod is in Christchurch/Canterbury I think. Certainly in the South Island.

Re Leota – there was an article on rnz website about her being with the Roses and that she was hoping to be able to give them a taste of kiwi culture (traditional Maori).

Most of the Tactix players are either in the Ferns squad, or live out of town. Although I think Poi (who should be in the Ferns!!!), is now a local.

So One News tonight reports that the four Auckland players are still stuck in Auckland waiting for an exemption to be granted. Said Taurua wasn’t expecting, when she named her squads, to possibly have to call on them straight up.

Those that can travel assemble in Christchurch in two days time – Thursday.

I also saw the news report.

Without Fitzpatrick the SF will be feather light defensively.

Staffy seems to know that the Auckland 4 are a no go.

@McLeod, I suspect that is the case. From the start there have been reasons, not out there in public knowledge, that would impact on the applications success.

Not looking good for Crampton, Fitzpatrick, Nweke and Toeava. Dear me.

So, if no Fitzpatrick that leaves Burger and Jury as your starting combo.. and only defenders.

Looking at the Development Squad the first two names I saw were Burley and Maihi (also AKL based). Only other non-AKL options in that group are Lokotui (few cameos at GD for the Pulse) and Tong.

Gee whizz does Taurua put an SOS out Rore (unlikely), or rope in Mikaere or even Te Huinga Reo Selby-Rickit? Thinking someone experienced. Might not get on court but to be cover in training? Will keep an eye on the Ferns Instagram!

Haha, I also thought DNT might ask Rore, though based on her recent interviews she isn’t match fit yet!

On the plus side it is real opportunity for several players to stand up and cement their spots.

I feel for Toeava, it really was her to chance to show her skills internationally.

I just hope no double standards with NPC requests.

With you on that Baller! I have to say, I wonder if the media asked about it at a stand up then things would either hurry up.

Would Toeava have seen much, if any, court time?
With Crampton a WA specialist, and also the captain, I feel she’d be playing every minute.

TB – Not sure about Toeava and time but if Nweke was on for a bit as shooter Noels may have been tempted to trial her.

There is an item in the Herald today saying that 6 NPC players were granted an exemption to join their respective squads (so they live in Auckland but play for teams out of the region). This was an error and has now been revoked.
These players will return to Auckland.

Based on that it was wise to bring in three other squad players for netball. I would like to see how Tong weighs up against the England shooters.
