Be interesting who Noeline gives the Centre bib to – Saunders or Kersten.

Suspect Te Paea will get the nod to start at GA. I suspect first cab off the rank would be Hume based off her combination with Wilson.

@WeWood – Saunders has spent most of the season playing WA (and bloody well I might add) and Kersten is definitely more WD like Winders, so is a tricky one maybe Gordon for part? but I think Guthrie would have it all over her – I hope over the course of the series we get to see Kate Heffernan at C against Guthrie.

I expect we’ll see a Wilson/TPSR starting line up, but with Noels – ya never know what she has up her sleeve

Am I right in thinking Hume is the only uncapped player named for tonight?

and Tiana – though Hume has played fast 5

Totally agree Kerryn. Saunders has always been a C who could cover WA for the Ferns but this season really established herself there. I think her stocks have risen as a result, and so too for Heffernan as you mention. I don’t think she would’ve made Ferns spending another season solely at WD.

I had forgotten Saunders/Kersten would be pairing up against Guthrie (how could I forget!) Perhaps even more sense to tag team C and have them play a half each?

I think we could see a few subs tonight as Taurua tries to keep the energy up.

Putting aside delayed training, I wonder if this is who NT regards as her strongest lineup.

Moving circle, only 3 experienced defenders, fit/fast midcourters who can track…has NT written all over.

Interesting that Grace Nweke is not included in the 12. I wonder if DNT is looking at bringing her and Toeava in, in the 2nd half of this series? Introducing fresh legs and a complete change up in game plan, to keep England always guessing.

WOW. Look at this Ferns line-up

    Wilson
    Metuarau
    Crampton
    Winders
    Gordon
    Burger
    Jury

Don’t think anyone would have picked this starting seven. Bold from Noels.

Love the unexpected SF lineup. Great mix of experience and youth. You either have the goods or you dont.

Is this Wilson’s first time up against Mentor?

Agreed Baller, and massive confidence boost for Tiana and Maddy to get the start. Hope they do well. Also home Wilson plays with freedom and turns and shoots.

England’s 10 day build up should see them win this with ease.

I agree Mcleod. The roses should win this easily.
