Wonderful news. I’m also pleased it is spread over two locations.
Two minds about this
Kind of glad but also kind of really angry.
I’ve been wanting to go back to NZ for a few months now.
I need to special clearance from NZ (hardly likely) considering I’m from the ‘Victorian covid’ state. Be in ‘total’ quarantine for ’14’ days plus pay 3k. Then when 8 return to Aus, reverse, 14 days quarantine and the cost.
But I guess I’m not a sports celebrity huh? Just a nobody who wants to see family members.- This reply was modified 3 years, 10 months ago by minkie.
I totally understand Minkie. I’ve got a grandson, born 1.75kg nearly a year ago in Hobart whom I have never seen. Trying desperately to get over there and return – can’t get a flight through Sydney that has less than a 13hr layover so I’d have to go stay in a Hotel which means QT in Tasmania, and can’t get a spot in QT here plus $4K. Yes there are spots that come up but no confirmed flights for return. Yet sports teams and celebrities can come and go as they please.
Having a dig at the NZ Govt for allowing a few sports people into NZ is a rather poor.
If we can’t have a little bit of sport, during a shit time for the world, then NZ might as well just close to everyone.
If Melbourne can allow 1200 Tennis players and hanger on’s in, then what is the issue with about 20-25 Netball people.I’m super happy to have the Diamonds in NZ. I’ll go to one or both the Christchurch games, bring it on.
Actually its not a dig at the Government – I am more than happy with the majority of their response. I won’t be at any of the games of netball this year actually – I’m not prepared to go out in crowds of people however I would dearly like to be able to meet my grandchild before he starts school.
Likewise Mcleod, I moved to Tauranga a year ago and I am stoked that we get two matches, I will definitely be going to either one or both.
Ummm nowhere was I having a dig at the NZ Government? If anything I was having a go at Elite Sports ppls wether it’s tennis in Aus or netball in NZ, they get special clearance, unlike us common folk. My reasons for wanting to see my family are pretty legit, as you well know McLeod. Hope you get to see grandie soon Marianne ❤
A couple of years ago Maddy Proud wondered if a knee injury would let her play #SuperNetball again, now she has the chance to make her Diamonds debut when they face NZ in #ConstellationCup in March. https://t.co/jMaPf5Wo3X #SSN

ANZP preseason starts soon, when does SSN start?
How conditioned will the players be?
SSN has already started pre-season. I assume both countries will be around the same.
Five sent home after falling short of Silver Ferns fitness standards
Well done to the ladies who have maintained their fitness over summer. Not long now, 6 weeks until international netball.
