Koenen needs to come on at both GS and GA

I like that Bruce is at GD rather than Klau, never got to see that previously.

I personally would have had Proud or Hadley on the bench over Charles but I guess we’ll see how she goes if she gets on the court. The attack is a bit stilted at the moment, I think Proud or Hadley could’ve opened that up well or even Price since she has that connection with Austin and Bassett.

The youth on the bench are so exciting but the lack of experience does make me nervous. I guess it is time to give them the chance to gain that experience though.

Ferns definitely looking the better team at the moment

Aussies struggling to adjust to NZ umpires.
And no-one can ever complain about Aussie defenders’ physicality with Maia (give em a shove and hold the arm) Wilson on court.

Australia needed to change WD or C rather GD IMO. The feeders need to be kept off circle edge. Bruce isnโ€™t a shut down GD and Klau hasnโ€™t had an impact. Bruce is winning ball back. If the NZ middies were kept off circle edge the circle defenders would have more of a chance to get into it.

Iโ€™d like to see Garbin or Koenen at GS. Bassett is not a target. Austin having a great debut all things considered. Gosh Australia would be stuffed without Watson.

That circle is push shove, hold, push, shove – everyone giving and getting equally ๐Ÿ™‚

I agree @Netballcrazy1, I would have liked either Hadley or Proud to come on at C. Moloney is just not in the game, Charles needs to come on. Koenen at GA might calm things down a bit as well, it all seems a bit hectic with both Austin and Bassett not really firing. Bassett is not in form and probably shouldn’t be on the court but I’m not sure how that attack end would go with two debutants.

The Australian Defenders need to adjust but I’d keep the same players on. Jenner will just bring even more penalties and Weston is not a good matchup on Ekenasio. I wouldn’t mind seeing Moloney at WD, she’s a good shutdown defender and Simpson is getting expensive on Crampton.

Winders is having a great game so far, she has the upper hand on Watson.
Kersten and Moloney have canceled each other out.
So far NZs midcourt is winning their battle.
I feel under an Aus whistle, Wilson would have been pinned more for the way she uses her body.

Some of those passes on the circle edge for the Ferns look extremely short.

The short pass rule changed at start of last year.

Watson back to playing C at International level…

Charles to WA, Weston to WD, Moloney and Simpson to the bench.

If Rav has a big year she will walk back into the Diamonds. C is a big problem. Watson is the worldโ€™s best WA yet has to keep being moved to C.

Shame Price wasnโ€™t in the 12 today.

Wilson is getting so many offensive contacts but she’s not getting called on?

Bruce singlehandedly dragging the Diamonds back into it! Much more conviction in the Diamonds attack end but there are still too many basic mistakes. Charles has been a good injection but still too many turnovers just from playing too quickly.

The three best Cs in the Diamonds are Hadley, Price and Proud, and yet none of them are in the 12.

As soon as the Diamonds got on a roll, all the turnovers have started again. I really think we need to see Koenen or Garbin just to create some more structure.
