      Thunderbirds really put themselves in a bad position by dropping Pitman. Even if she had gotten pregnant mid-season, she would’ve been a great player to have around the team, experience and all. I saw the pre-season column on the SSN website and I think at least two commentators/past players said they hope ‘the biggest surprise of the year’ would be seeing pitman return. So looks like fans aren’t the only ones.

        In any other job, not being rehired because you might become pregnant is definitely not allowed. It is unbelievable that it should even come into the conversation for not picking her.

          Tbirds just seem to have dropped/lost the heart and soul of their club in Pitman, Shimmin, Glasgow, and Guscoth. They were flat in Round 1 and lacked leadership on the court.
          I predict wooden spoon for them which is so disappointing because they looked to be building something special towards the back end of the 2020 season.
          The way they treated Pitman especially was (a) heartbreaking (b) illogical. I will never understand.

            My gut tells me the TBirds recruitment decisions have been based on money rather than playing ability.
            Such a shame coz they were headed in the right direction last season :(

              Who would T’Birds be spending their money on? With all due respect to their team, nearly every player would be a bench player on pretty much the minimum contract at all other clubs. The only player I can imagine eating up a decent amount of the budget would be Sterling.

                Exactly my point Alex. They are trying to save money by not keeping the more experienced players they let go.
