The McCauliffe and Cassidy swap still feels a bit odd but both are doing really good jobs. The Fever midcourters are definitely making more errors than they were earlier in the season. ATN has continued her good form from last week, especially on defence. Glasgow’s Diamonds chances perhaps slipping away a bit.

          1/2 time: 33-33

          Fowler 26/26, Teague-Neeld 5/5
          Koenen 25/27, Wood 8/8

Great game. A couple of times it has appeared that Fever was going to take control, but Lightning won’t go away. Wood & Teague-Neeld both playing well without a turnover to their name.

It’s always been a little strange how few super shots Wood attempts but she shot three in a row to push the Lightning out to a lead. Glasgow hasn’t really come on with impact at all.

              3/4 time: Lightning 53-47

The end of that Q reminded us a little bit of the end of the 3rd Q when Swifts played Fever and Housby stepped up and did the damage. This time it was Steph Wood for Lightning. She’s having a blinder. Will this 6 goal lead be enough?

I swear some of those shots by ATN would be soo close to a held ball.

Well done Lightning. The ‘supershot strategy’ didn’t work this week for Fever…well it didn’t work last week either, but it worked better against Swifts.

                      IMO – MVP – Wood.

The BYE week and then the drama with Vixens seems to have taken the wind out of the Fever’s sails a bit. They were outplayed in pretty much every position except Fowler. The strategy of taking her off and relying on Glasgow/ATN almost worked last week but it’s not really sustainable.

Lightning always seems to find a way to beat the top teams without looking dominant at all. They’ve beaten the Swifts, Giants and Fever at least once. Next week against the Swifts should be very interesting.

Full time: Lightning 65-61 (MVP: Steph Wood)

MVP Steph Wood and very well deserved. She was tremendous. Check these stats… 18/20 (90%), 2/2 super shots, 17 assists, 21 CPRs, 2 pickups, ZERO turnovers!

Lightning defence were great; so much pressure across the court. And probably the best game from Wood in a long time – nice to see her come back in some form.

Fever will grow from this and come back stronger. I just don’t see them winning with Fowler off the court…

Covid cases are getting bad in Sydney. Won’t be any games there for the rest of the comp I’d say.

Yep McLeod, we’re a hairs breath away from officially closing our borders. Police, lights set up yesterday at Echuca Bridge. Am so disgusted with one damn NRL team, if the Warriors can stay away from home for nearly two yrs, can’t see why a ‘bonding night’ is so important to the Roosters. Obviously got the right priorities.

And then one of the Qld state of O players, smuggles a dancer into his room. Clearly he was thinking with is man bit.
