Interesting to note that the weekend netball is still going ahead at Netball SA at the same time as SSN games, just relocated the indoor games outside (+ some wiggling around time slots)
1/2 time: 29-29
Wallace 20/24, Housby 8/9
Harten 16/19, Dwyer 10/11Fitting the score is dead level. Top class teams putting on a great game. Swifts playing their possession/no mistakes brand. Giants also very good.
Paige Hadley having a cracker of a game.
3/4 time: Giants 47-42
Big end to the 3rd Q for Giants. From 42-42, Harten scored 2 super shots as they went on a 5-0 run for the biggest lead of the game. Can Swifts dig deep and fight back. Currently 14 turnovers each and penalties 43-42 Giants.
GIANTS WIN!!! Great game!
That was an enjoyable game to watch. Good win for the Giants.
Is this there first time beating Swifts?
Full time: Giants 59-55
Wallace 39/48 (81%)
Housby 9/10 (90%)
Garbin 3/4 (75%)Harten 33/40 (83%)
Dwyer 21/23 (91%)Assists: Hay 19, Hadley 16
Gains: Poolman 8, Klau & Parmenter 3Penalties: Swifts 59-51
Turnovers: 19-19MVP: Maddie Hay
Top quality game!
I was at the games today.
Recap
Magpies v Vixens
Low intensity match in comparison to the Sydney derby. Mannix played really well especially early days on Nelson. Nelson in the first quarter/half was very fumbly. Also had one hand holding off Mannix and one hand trying to get the ball.
The switch between Jovic and Browne seemed to work well.
I was very impressed with Mundy. Her movement was very smooth and came across differently live as to watching on tv. I thought she probably had the better of Braz. Ward was incredibly. Was everywhere!! Barkmeyer has a lot better movement than Stanton, however her shot was off. I wish Kumwenda had the ability to stay in the circle and let the others bring the ball to her, but not the case.Swifts v Giants
Intensity was up from the first whistle. Parmy and JLP continually look at the umpires for a free, or to dispute a call. JLP quite physical. Maddie Hay got MVP, whilst she was good, she wasn’t flashy. Had 3 opponents and well deserved MVP. Wallace seemed a bit off today and did miss more shots than she usually does. Poolman had a pretty good game. I would’ve swapped Garbin into GS, or even Housby to get Poolman’ head moving. Think Brionys changes may have lost the game for them.Quite excited in the hope there will be more netball in Adelaide – in saying that, I don’t remember the last Tbirds game I’ve been too ?.
Well held event by Netball SA with the ability to hold a functioning junior netball competition outside and hold SSN inside.
I think it’s the first time they’ve beaten another top 4 team this season.
I think shot selection by Giants was better today. In saying that, still frustrating to watch Harten pass the ball out from underneath the hoop to a two point zone for an unnecessary super shot.
A missed two point shot like that could have been the difference in the game. Not meant to be today for the Swifts, Wallace didn’t seem her usual self but the team played well. Good that all the players got on the court. With it looking like condensed season will have no choice but to make changes and try and keep players fitness levels ready for when it really matters. If we play Thunderbirds next would like to see Haythornwaite start and Hadley given a bit of a rest.
Would love Thunderbirds to win
1/4 time: Thunderbirds 15-14
Fowler 12/12, Teague-Neeld 2/2
Potgieter 11/11, Horjus 4/4Great Q. Very entertaining. Tbirds putting up a great show. Statistically, all four shooters yet to miss, but we’ve seen ATN called twice for held ball while shooting.
I wonder if Olivia Lewis should move on from the fever. Marinkovich uses everyone but her and she can’t grow
Sadly, Maisie Nankivell having a bit of a horror 2nd Q, three turnovers already. Fever up 8-1 in this Q.
