I’m questioning some of Anderson’s coaching moves. Is Aiken unwell?

Can the Firebids stop with the 2 point shot, it’s embarrassing.

          3/4 time: Giants 54-41

Incredible finish from Giants. Firebirds tried and failed with 4 super shot attempts, then Harten and Dwyer sank one each in the last 30 seconds to surely shut Firebirds out of the contest. In the power play, Giants scored 9 goals to 1

Today is just not Dwan’s day. Bueta has been good in both positions but they need Aiken for the final quarter.

Giants and JFitz proving the critics wrong. Their attack end is just superb.

Giants are the real deal. Fitzgerald has developed this team so well from NSW talent. Has built to this over the last 2-3 years. Giants and Fever look a cut above the rest.

I’m not a Giants fan, but it’s good to see a team (apart from Harten), or Australian players.

                  Goals from turnovers… Giants 10, Firebirds 1

                  Well, there’s your problem!

GIANTS NETBALL 67 def QUEENSLAND FIREBIRDS 60

                    Giants:
                    Harten 44/53 (83%)
                    Dwyer 19/25 (76%)
                    TOTAL 63/78 (81%)

                    Super shots 4/12 (Harten 3/9, Dwyer 1/3)
                    Assists 56 (Price 20)

                    Bueta 21/28 (75%)
                    Dwan 8/14 (57%)
                    TOTAL 52/71 (73%)

                    Super shots 8/19 (Dwan 4/9, Bueta 3/7, Aiken 1/3)
                    Assists 43 (Ravaillion 16)
                    Gains 16 (Jenner 5)

                    Penalties: Firebirds 65-57
                    Turnovers: Firebirds 24-20

                    MVP: Jo Harten (Giants)

Raining super shots for Tippah Dwan at the end, but it was too little, too late. Good win for Giants who were the more composed team for the majority of the game. The attacking combo of Price, Hay, Dwyer, Harten worked so well.

I didn’t watch this game but by the stats, Dwyer, Harten, and Rav had big games. How did Rav play? I think her NNP was the highest it’s been since it was even introduced (I was used to seeing her in negatives at Collingwood but 85.5 is massive!).

Giants definitely the real dela this season. I think a Fever vs Giants GF is pretty likely.

Rav was decent but I thought she was comfortably beaten by JLP. She didn’t offer enough in Defence. If Price/Hay/Dwyer/Harten play that well for the rest of the season, Giants will win the premiership. Even without the strongest defence end. Dwyer and Harten didn’t even shoot that well and they still dominated.

Winning SSN from the Minor SF is a huge achievement. Given all the travel from Perth, I’m not sure Fever will be able to manage it unless they can find themselves in the Major SF. They could make it from 12 points behind, but they’ll want to beat the Swifts and Firebirds both times I expect.

Some strange coaching moves from Anderson… I felt like the very first time she made changes across her attack line it was unnecessary and the firebirds went from being in a reasonable amount of control to trailing. From there on out the changes seemed more necessary however as soon as a combo started to form and make an impact (at either end of the court) it was changed again. Giants played an extremely settled line up and even the 1 change they did make was quickly reversed when it was apparent it didn’t gel quickly.
One coach with 25+ years under her belt versus a rookie showed today.
